A fire broke out early Tuesday morning in an apartment building on Inglis Street in Halifax’s South End.
Flames were coming from the roof of the 15-unit apartment building when firefighters arrived at around 2:30 am
According to Halifax Deputy Fire Chief Roy Hollett, the fire had already spread over three floors of the heritage building.

Emergency services have closed Inglis Street between Victoria and Tower Roads to allow firefighters to more effectively combat the fire.
Twenty-five tenants escaped the fire and were able to take refuge in a municipal bus that went there.
The Halifax fire department estimates that it will take several hours to spread the flames. He asks motorists to avoid the area.
