Omarosa Manigault Newman, the former aide of Donald Trump had released the tapes of secretly recorded conversations that happened at the White House. On August 13, 2018, the US president had hit back at her via twitter.
Admitting that his response to her claims were “not presidential”, Trump on Monday tweeted, “Wacky Omarosa, who got fired 3 times on the Apprentice, now got fired for the last time. She never made it, never will.”
He also wrote, “She begged me for a job, tears in her eyes, I said Ok. People in the White House hated her. She was vicious, but not smart. I would rarely see her but heard….”
Manigault Newman is a former ‘The Apprentice’ reality TV star, who became the most eminent African American in the Trump White House. The recordings released were Manigault’s conversations with Trump and his chief of staff, John Kelly.
Trump has been claimed as a “racist” who has used the “N-word”, by the memoir. The US President has been allegedly caught uttering the slur “multiple times” on mic, during the making of his reality TV show ‘The Apprentice’.
On Monday, the President hit back all such claims in a series of tweets, saying, “There are NO TAPES of the Apprentice where I used such a terrible and disgusting word … I don’t have that word in my vocabulary, and never have.”
Manigault Newman released one recording on NBC’s Meet The Press on Sunday, where Kelly was recorded firing Manigault in the White House Situation Room, in December 2017.
The other recording was released on NBC’s Today program, in which Trump seems to express surprise about the fact that Omarosa had been fired from his administration.
“Omarosa? Omarosa what’s going on? I just saw on the news that you’re thinking about leaving? What happened?” Trump says on the tape played on NBC’s Today show on Monday.
If recognized as genuine, the recordings could be considered a breach of White House security.
In the tape released on Monday, Manigault Newman says, “General Kelly – General Kelly came to me and said that you guys wanted me to leave.”
While the president appears to respond, saying, “No … I, I, nobody even told me about it.”
Manigault Newman also warned on the NBC’s Today show that there is more to come, as there were “multiple tapes.”
“There’s a lot of very corrupt things happening in the White House and I am going to blow the whistle on a lot of them,” she added.
The released tapes have augmented the emerging controversy over the apparent practice of Manigault of secretly recording her colleagues. She could probably face prosecution for making the recordings of Trump, and Kelly, without their knowledge. However, the doubt is yet to be
