Power of Fox News host, Sean Hannity, lies in plausibly publicizing agendas of the President of the United States, Donald Trump. However, bad news for the president in the recent months has hit his show’s rating, with the number of viewer hitting a new low.
While Fox News channel’s Sean Hannity will end 2018 as the most popular show for the second year running, his show’s rating has been gradually falling since midterm elections, and also because of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of the president.
Hannity’s show gained popularity promoting Trump’s doctrine and bashing the Democrats, one instance of which is linked with him, trying to denounce New York’s Democratic Congressional candidate, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. However, during that show his idea went completely off the track as he ended up promoting her campaign instead, giving people a clear indication about the biased nature of his show.
His show averaged 2.76 million viewers since the election through Dec.17, falling down 19 percent as compared to the last month, the Nielsen company said. Among the 25-to-54-year-old, the number of most prominent audience centric to watch his show declined by an astounding 30 percent. The decline, however, meant that his rivals Rachel Maddow on MSNBC and Chris Cuomo on CNN, gained significant numbers.
Maddow beat Hannity in December, a complete turnover from October where Hannity was in charge of the proceedings and his show attracted about a million more people each night, Nielsen reported.
“I think it’s a reflection of the mood of his audience,” said Mark Lukasiewicz, dean of Hofstra University’s communications school and a longtime NBC executive. He further added saying, “They can’t be happy with what is coming out of Washington every day.”
Hannity and Trump have supported each other like best mates, and the duo reportedly talks several times in a week to discuss plans about how should they plan and proceed further.
